CSJ wraps up season with three weekend games

The Fighting Saints volleyball team plays Fisher College twice on Saturday, Oct. 14 and Unity College on Sunday, Oct. 15 to conclude their historic 2017 season. To date, they own an 11-8 record, representing the most wins the program has ever seen.

On Wednesday, Oct. 11 CSJ took down Green Mountain College 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-22). They followed the non-conference victory up with two in-conference wins on Thursday at Central Maine Community College, winning the first match-up 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-7) and the second 3-1 (25-15, 19-25, 25-11, 25-16).

Fisher is 5-6 overall, matching CSJ wins over common opponents SUNY-Delhi (3-1) and Lyndon State (3-0), indicative of competitive games to come at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons are out-of-conference rivals to CSJ.

The Fighting Saints play their last YSCC conference game Sunday at Unity at 11:00 a.m. The two teams have met twice this season, with CSJ taking 3-2 losses each time. A win on Sunday would give the Fighting Saints confidence and momentum going into YSCC playoff action.
