College of St. Joseph's softball team hosts SUNY Delhi on Tuesday, April 10 at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The game was postponed from Monday due to the cold weather.
The Lady Saints are coming off a weekend in Maine where they went 3-1. CSJ swept Central Maine Community College 5-0 and 12-7 on Saturday, April 7. On Sunday, they split with Southern Maine Community College. The Saints won the first game 9-5 and fell 6-4 in the second.
Delhi is 0-11 this season. The Broncos and Fighting Saints have not faced a common opponent thus far. Sierra Keesler leads SUNY's offense with seven hits and a .292 batting average. She also leads the team in runs scored (five) and total RBI (four). Keesler has recorded one double, two triple and one home run. Sophomore Jenna Lutz has seen the most time on the mound for Delhi and has 15 strikeouts on the season.
Senior CSJ pitcher Jenna Crowley is 4-3 on the season. She recently threw a season-high five strikeouts against SMCC on Sunday. Shelby Fenton put up double-digit hits through four games over the weekend for the Lady Saints.
CSJ will look to improve their season record to 11-13 after Tuesday's doubleheader versus Delhi and Wednesday's two home games against Fisher College.
