College of St. Joseph's softball team plays SUNY Delhi on Tuesday, April 24 at 3 p.m.
The Lady Saints are 12-16 on the year after going 1-3 over the weekend against UMaine - Presque Isle. Timell Montgomery and Kali Drum each recorded two home runs during Sunday's contests, which the Saints lost 11-2 and 10-8.
The Delhi Broncos are 0-23. CSJ defeated the Broncos 13-5 and 16-5, both in five innings, on April 10. Shelby Fenton recorded a home run in each game and Montgomery slugged her fourth home run of the season in game two against the Broncos.
Jenna Crowley picked up the win on the mound in game one. She threw three strikeouts and allowed seven hits and five runs. Delhi's starting pitcher Haylee Lefebvre took the loss on the mound, as she gave up 11 hits and 13 runs in 3.2 innings.
Five Lady Saints recorded two hits in the contest and all but three players scored one run or more. CSJ recorded 12 hits as a team. The Saints took a 2-0 lead after the first inning. Crowley's two strikeouts in the top of the first kept the Broncos' opening chance at the plate scoreless. Delhi put up four runs in the second inning, but CSJ responded with 10 runs between the second and third innings to secure the win.
First-year player McKenzie Ebert collected the win on the mound for CSJ and struck out six batters in the process. She allowed nine hits and five runs. Starter Jenna Lutz took the loss for Delhi, allowing 17 hits and 13 runs in 3.1 innings.
After Tuesday's games at Delhi, the Lady Saints will regroup quickly and play Middlebury College on Wednesday, April 25.
